A Glorious Morning at the Papal Audience in Basilica Square

It was a glorious morning out in the square in front of the Vatican Basilica. An estimated crowd of 80,000 people from all over the world. From the moment I arrived to stand in line until after the Audience had ended, there was a special sense of excitement and faith in the air. Pope Francis spoke in several different languages excluding English, and several times even during his homily drew applause from the large crowd.

Two Ordinations This Past Summer are Signs of Things to Come

On May 25, 2013 Father Brian Maxwell was ordained to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ through the laying on of hands by Most Reverend Michael R. Cote, D.D., Bishop of Norwich. With the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Norwich still going through the final weeks of a three year restoration, over 350 people, plus nearly forty brother priests concelebrating and his fellow seminarians serving the ordination Mass, it was truly a day of blessing for the Diocese of Norwich.

Father Lynch rest in peace.

Our diocese lost a really good man and priest this past weekend when on the feast of the Transfiguration Father Robert Lynch was called home by our Lord to his eternal reward. Father Bob was a gentle, quiet, strong priestly presence. He was very kind and a priestly inspiration. His body will be received at Saint Mary church on Wednesday August 10, 2011 at 3:30pm. The funeral mass is on Thursday at 11am. Father Bob was a good and faithful servant of God.
